Why Does This Exist?
There's been a going on in the Denver Lindy Hop world. During the summer of 2025, I was hearing from a lot of folks that it was getting frustrating to figure out what was going on with all of the disparate sources of information.
After wrapping up Balorado that year, I started talking with dancers to understand what they wanted from a communication channel and their pain points with the current tools and systems. I reached out to organizers from other communities who had built similar resources, talked with Denver Lindy organizers about their workflows and tech stacks, and worked to create a sustainable solution that didn't add to organizers' workloads.
My goal was to have a resource maintained by the community, for the community. Denver Lindy Calendar was launched in October of 2025 and is the result of months of conversations, technical deep dives, and some amazing collaborations within our community. I'm so grateful for all the help and assistance I've had along the way!
How To Add Things To The Calendar
See something that isn't here, but should be? Here's how to add it:
A Google calendar or ICS feed (best for organizations with lots of events)
A calendar invite (best for recurring events, ad-hoc events)
A Facebook event (invite Kay Wilcox and/or Denver Lindy Cal FB Page, best for ad-hoc events)
This process was developed in collaboration with community organizations. Denver Lindy Cal aims to ensure sustainability and accuracy by working with organizers' existing processes. There's no AI involved.

All calendars were added with organizer permission and collaboration - they are amazing humans who have made this project possible!

Darker Purple: Boulder Swing Dance (maintained by Lorne at BSD)
Light Green: CO Swing Dance Club (maintained by William and Kathy at CSDC)
Magenta: Swing Nights Calendar (maintained in collaboration with Bethany & Ceth at Swing Nights)
Blue: CO Blues Dance (this comes from CO Blues Dance, they have an amazing community-maintained calendar!)
Light Purple: Balorado (maintained by Teamorado)
Yellow: Facebook Events Feed (these are events that the Denver Lindy Cal FB page has RSVP'd to, and often where CMDance events can be found)
Note: Sometimes there are sync issues with changes to recurring events. I try to make sure that these get corrected and am cautious about using this method for recurring events.

Pink: National Events (I add these manually, and it's not comprehensive)

Monthly Highlights Sources
I aim for about 5-7 key events relevant to dancers each month. I pay special attention to live music events, local festivals, and anything exciting and out of the ordinary. I love getting recommendations for what to include! I generally try to get these posted towards the end of every month.
